I spent the time making lots of notes. Tuning samples to combine them is really useful knowledge to gain. I had worked out the pseudo stereo with a song I did as I only had a mono microphone. It was good to see it re-affirmed. Using stereo to pan out your sounds is going to be really useful. I think just being made aware of some of these techniques so that I can take them into account was tremendously worthwhile. I use DubTurbo and Audacity which are quite primitive compared to your setup. I think I can emulate some of the processes mentioned but with a lot more fiddling involved.
